Upper & Junior School Nurse

The International School of Florence seeks an excellent and qualified School Nurse to join our vibrant multicultural community. This role is vital in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of our students and staff across our two campuses.

Start: 31/08/26 – approx mid-March, 2027 with possibility of extension

Main Duties

  • Student Care: Manage first aid, acute illnesses, and emergencies with a student-centered approach
  • Health Plans: Develop care plans for chronic conditions and maintain accurate medical databases
  • Wellness: Lead health screenings, monitor vaccinations, and promote healthy lifestyles with the Wellbeing team
  • Operations: Prepare trip kits and provide administrative support at reception/offices as needed
  • Training: Conduct staff emergency training and lead classroom health and prevention discussions

Requirements

  • Nursing Degree and OPI registration
  • High proficiency in English/Italian (B2/C1)
  • Empathy, teamwork, calm demeanor under pressure
  • Own transport for travel between campuses
  • Background in pediatrics/school nursing highly valued

Upper School Mathematics & Science Teacher

The International School of Florence seeks a Mathematics & Science Teacher to plan, organise and implement an appropriate instructional program in a secondary learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfil their academic potential.

Role: part-time administrative support

The International School of Florence seeks a profile within the “disabled category” (disabili) as administrative support for both campuses, one located in Bagno a Ripoli and one located in Florence.

It is essential to be organised, work well with people, be flexible and have a “can do” approach to work.

Only candidates from within the disabled protected categories will be considered.

Substitute Teachers

The Junior and Upper Schools are looking for well trained, licensed and experienced teachers to serve as an occasional substitute teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.  Candidates must be already residing in Florence. You can submit an expression of interest using the details below. Interviews will be scheduled with select candidates.

Essential skills and experience:  

  • A relevant first degree and teaching qualification   
  • Excellent communication skills in English, equivalent to Level C1 (CEF)  
  • Hold a current Partita IVA for contractual purposes  
  • You must be able to work at short notice

Preferred skills and experience:  

  • Minimum 3 years of full time teaching experience in an international school environment      
  • Experience with the IB programmes (PYP, MYP or DP) strongly preferred
