MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL

As per Italian Law, the school is not allowed to give our students over the counter medication. If a child is in need of specific medication during the school day, our nurses are here to assist and support.

Every medication must be stored in the nurse's office, so on the first day of school, or the first day of the prescription, the medication must be handed to the nurse or the receptionist.

Every medication at school must be brought with a written statement with the following informations:

• Child’s name, surname and date of birth

• Correct dosage and times

• Parent’s signature to allow administration of the medication

ACCIDENTS

In case of an accident, our nurses will assist on site, and the appropriate action will be taken, including notifying the parents.

The safety of our students is always our primary concern, but if the situation is more serious and requires additional urgent treatment,  112 will be called imminently. 

The school nurse or a member of staff will remain with the student if further treatment or hospitalisations is required.

First Aid Procedure

ILLNESS

Each year as we enter the flu season, we want to ensure the well-being of our school community. If your child starts exhibiting flu-like symptoms during school hours, our priority is to alleviate their discomfort and prevent the potential spread of infections. The school nurses will assess the situation, and if they suspect an infection or virus, they will take precautionary measures to protect the entire community.

We kindly request that you pay attention if your child presents one or more of the following symptoms:

1. Fever over 37.8C (or 100F)

2. Vomiting

3. Diarrhea

4. Non-stop cough

5. Weak breathing

6. Fatigue

7. Constant pain

8. Unknown rash
