Guidance/College Counseling

Speaker: Mike Devlin, Director of Admission & Associate Dean, Stanford University speaks about The US college search process.

The College and Careers Counseling Program at the International School of Florence aims to enable students to make clear and informed post-secondary choices to match students’ individual profiles and goals. The Counselor works with students and parents to explore college options and make informed choices about colleges and universities around the world. University preparation workshops, personal visits by university representatives to ISF and organized trips to university fairs in Italy help students gather information and make plans. Students also receive advice and information about external testing for the SAT, ACT and Oxbridge testing, as well as guidance for the annual PSAT test held at the school in tenth grade.

In addition, the Counselor provides emotional and social support to students throughout the Upper School by working directly with staff and students regarding strategies for students who are experiencing social, emotional or learning challenges. The Counselor is also involved in the planning and delivery of the school’s Well-Being program.
