We believe that sports, whether in teams or as individuals, is a fundamental part of our daily lives at ISF. Our Competitive Sports Program aims to provide opportunities for all our students to get involved in sports and develop important values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, and honesty. Active students make for great learners and we strongly value the impact of daily physical activity on the students' growth, their overall wellbeing, and their academic success.
Prior to the COVID pandemic, ISF had been very active in promoting competitive sports by hosting tournaments and traveling within Italy and abroad in a range of sports including football, basketball, volleyball and tennis.
Since the COVID-related restrictions were lifted during the last academic year, we had once again resumed our sporting activities with great enthusiasm, making active partnerships with international schools in Italy. Although travel last year still presented challenges in terms of Green Pass and testing requirements, our students traveled to Turin, Rome, Milan, Genoa, Padua and Verona. Likewise, we hosted several friendly fixtures here in Florence. Both home and away fixtures are also a great experience for our students to socialize, interact and learn from peers in the name of sportsmanship and healthy competitiveness.
Our intention and commitment is to continue increasing sporting opportunities for our students, bringing these to the pre-pandemic level and beyond.
